THEATER HERODES ATTICA
ATHENS |
This is known as the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and was built in AD 161 and was rebuilt in 1955. It is used today for concerts. While flipping through channels sometime you may have seen a Yanni concert at the Acropolis (by chance?), well this is where that concert was held. This gives you an idea where this theatre is located in relation to the rest of the Acropolis. It is to the left of the series of arches in the bottom of the picture above, and on the same level. We are standing above the theatre with Parthenon behind us. This shot is facing away from the Parthenon with the city behind it. |
