FIELD, FOREST AND STREAM Overview: In this activity, we examined two different environments as they focus on sunlight, soil moisture, temperature, wind, plants and animals in each environment. In comparing these different environments we learned how nonliving elements influence living elements in an ecosystem. |

We chose two different types of environments at Hamilton School to study: 1) The Schoolyard soccer field, and 2) The Creek. We did our exploration in groups of two. Each pair was responsible for the different areas of study, namely: Soil, Moisture, Wind, Temperature, Plants, Animals and Sunlight. The pair that examined the temperature used thermometers and the pair who examined the wind, used small flags made out of sticks and paper to determined the amount of wind. We then used index cards with "Most" and "Least" to mark the areas as we explored. When we were all finished, we examined the two areas. We later took the index cards and created a chart. |
