Titan Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (ASE: TTP) is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of novel treatments for central nervous system disorders, cancer and cardiovascular disease. Titan’s products in development utilize novel technologies that have the potential to significantly improve the treatment of these diseases. Titan also establishes partnerships with government institutions and other leading pharmaceutical development companies.

Titan's product development pipeline includes six products in clinical testing:
                        Iloperidone

Iloperidone, Titan’s proprietary product in development for schizophrenia and related psychotic disorders, is now partnered with Vanda Pharmaceuticals, which acquired worldwide rights to iloperidone from Novartis Pharmaceuticals, AG. Vanda will now move forward to advance iloperidone in Phase III clinical testing.
                        Probuphine

Probuphine, Titan’s novel long-term treatment for opiate addiction is the first product in clinical testing to utilize our proprietary ProNeura long-term drug delivery technology. A recently completed Phase I/II pilot study evaluating Probuphine in the treatment of opiate addiction demonstrated positive results.
                        DITPA

DITPA, (3,5-diiodothyroproprionic acid) is an orally active analogue of thyroid hormone that Titan plans to develop as a potential treatment for congestive heart failure (CHF) associated with low patient T3, a form of thyroid hormone that is biologically active on heart tissue. We expect to initiate a randomized, controlled Phase II clinical study with DITPA in Class III and IV CHF patients with low serum T3 levels in the second half of 2004. In addition, a randomized, double blind Phase II study in patients with Class II-IV CHF, was initiated by the Veterans Administration in 2004. This multicenter study is funded by a $3.8 million government grant from the Veterans Administration system.
                        Pivanex

Pivanex, a histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor, is being evaluated in a Phase IIa clinical study as a single agent in the treatment of refactory chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
                       Gallium Maltolate

Gallium maltolate is a novel oral agent designed to inhibit cancer and bone disease cellular processes. A Phase I clinical study of gallium maltolate in various cancers is currently ongoing.
