FIREWORKS HAWKERS BURNHAM PARK
New Year's Eve was spend it Baguio. (This was six days into our Northern Luzon trip). It was a New Year's unlike Isa or Lucia had ever seen. We bought fireworks from the hawkers in Burnham Park and Joseton showed up with twice as many. The house we rented was on a hill with a large picture window facing many other hills.
| Fireworks were blasting all day, but by about 10:30 PM, there were major developments.
Huge Roman Candles, skyrockets, professional fireworks from China, all colors, whistle bombs, color sprays-you name it. Igorots, the indigenous people of Baguio, burned a pine log for good luck. From the picture window we saw fire everywhere. This lasted until about 2:30 am.
We visited the market daily and bought vegetables and many handicrafts; especially woven goods. We left Baguio heading back down to Manila on January 3rd.
