Stage Happy

And happy indeed to have had the opportunity to watch eight fabulous stage performances this year. There is some benefit to all the business travel. I just decided that instead of sitting in my hotel room all night long working and doing email until I fell asleep, it would be better to spend my time entertaining myself with non-computer-related stuff. (I may have gone overboard!)

In February, my friend Susan took me to watch Chicago in D.C. In October, Rent in LA with LJC, Oliver and Martin Guerre in London. In November, The Blue Man Group in Chicago, and in December, The Titanic and Bring in da Noise Bring in da Funk in NY with Isa. Isa, her pals Kathy, Carlos and some of my friends (including my old school chums), Don (her first cousin) and I did a whirlwind NY tour-it was great fun! Up ‘till four am one night.

Then to Las Vegas where LJC and I saw the Rockettes (odd after being in NY). I have to report that I had to defy my fear of heights by getting on the Stratosphere's Roller Coaster. Although it simply went around the building two times it was scary being so vulnerable like that.

Not to forget the memorable Bridges to Babylon Rolling Stones Tour in Oakland! Recommend ALL!

Cyber Punks at Holloween, at Patricia and Maria's, San Diego

We have many travel plans for next year. I enjoy my third sabbatical for a two-month break starting April. One month will be spent in the Philippines with family and scuba diving. A week in Puerto Vallarta in May and a cruise to Alaska in August. Both later trips will be in the company of our dearest friends. I hope that despite the busy schedule we make it a point to spend some time together in 1998!

Olivia Western Caribbean Cruise

Lucia and I at an excursion to Sting Ray City in the Cayman Islands. Sting Ray City is a sand bar in the middle of the seafoam green sea where tamed stingrays welcome treats from humans.
